Independence
The Kenton County Fairgrounds on Harris Pike is Independence's primary live-music address. A fixture in the community since 1960, it draws thousands each July for the annual county fair, with live music featured on closing night alongside demolition derbies and tractor pulls. The fairgrounds' biggest music moment is the Heart of Country Music Festival. It bills itself as Northern Kentucky's newest and fastest-growing country music and community celebration. The event runs all day across two stages, bringing together national headliners, rising stars, and hometown favorites with music flowing from noon to 11 PM. Past and upcoming headliners have included Clint Black, Little Texas, Justin Moore, and Shenandoah. Independence has no apparent dedicated club or bar live-music scene. Outside the fairgrounds, live music in the city surfaces mainly through community events, including an annual Labor Day festival at a local Catholic church that features tribute bands.
