Florence is a Northern Kentucky city of roughly 33,000, just south of Cincinnati. Its live-music options are spread across three distinct settings. Bobby Mackey's Music World, the honky-tonk owned by country singer Bobby Mackey, relocated to Florence on US-42 after its longtime Wilder home closed. Mackey opened the original club in 1978 to play the traditional country music he admired, and the Florence outpost carries that identity forward, with country music, line dancing, karaoke on band breaks, a mechanical bull, and haunted ghost tours on weekend nights. Turfway Park Racing and Gaming hosts weekend live music at Churchill's Bourbon & Brew Bar & Grille, with free performances from regional bands. Barleycorn's Florence brings live music to its patio in the summer, as part of the Northern Kentucky sports-bar-and-grill chain known for wings and happy hour.
