Mount Washington
American Legion Post 484 on Sutton Avenue is where swing music stays alive in Mount Washington. The hall's signature live event is the Monday Night Big Band, a regular engagement that draws dancers and listeners alike. The band covers traditional swing and contemporary big band arrangements, with a setlist drawn from the Great American Songbook and big band dance classics. A $10 cover gets you in, with $5 going to the Legion's charity fund and $5 to the band. Beyond the Monday residency, the post also hosts fundraiser concerts, including benefit shows for the Disabled American Veterans. The bar and grill is open for food and refreshments during shows. Mount Washington's live-music presence is modest and community-rooted: Post 484 is less a conventional music venue than a neighborhood hall that gives local and regional musicians a regular, purposeful stage.
