Columbia-Tusculum is Cincinnati's oldest neighborhood, founded in 1788. Its live-music scene runs on a handful of independent bars within walking distance of each other along Eastern and Stanley avenues. Stanley's Pub is the neighborhood's anchor for original live music, open since 1983 and still owned by the O'Donnell family. Local and touring bands man the bar's small stage most Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. The pub also holds a Jazz Jam every Monday and an Open Jam every Sunday. Reviewers note the booking leans toward jam bands and reggae. Pearl's Bar occupies a 100-year-old structure on Eastern Avenue, converted from a two-family residence into a bar and received one of the first liquor licenses in the Columbia-Tusculum Entertainment District. CityBeat lists it as a music venue with live acts on its calendar. Streetside Brewery is one of the neighborhood's go-to independent nightlife spots. The neighborhood also hosts an annual street festival with live music.
