Lakewood
Madison Avenue is the spine of Lakewood's live-music scene. Mahall's anchors the street in a building dating to 1924, doubling as a bowling alley, bar, and eatery. It pairs retro lanes with intimate performance rooms, drawing both up-and-coming artists and national touring acts. Upstairs, The Roxy at Mahall's opened in 2023, named for the dancehall that occupied the premises in the 1920s and 1930s, and holds up to 800 people. It has an open floor plan with an industrial character and books acts across rock, indie, and funk. Down the avenue, The Winchester Music Tavern, established in 2017, operates as a neighborhood bar with a dedicated live-music room. It draws both local and touring bands. The Mercury Music Lounge and Vosh round out the Madison Avenue corridor as additional bars with regular live music. The Lakewood Civic Auditorium adds a larger, civic-scale option for performances in the city.
