Grosse Pointe Park

A city in the Detroit area

Grosse Pointe Park sits on Detroit's eastern edge, and its live-music footprint is compact but consistent, anchored by two bars on Mack Avenue and Charlevoix. Cabbage Patch Saloon on Mack Avenue bills itself as "the home of whiskey and music," built around craft cocktails and whiskeys from around the world alongside Michigan craft beers. Local bands fill the bar on Saturday nights through the month, and the venue also hosts a recurring acoustic open-mic night focused on acoustic performers and original songwriters, offering a platform for original songs and honest feedback from fellow musicians. Jam nights hosted by regulars round out the weekly calendar. Howlers & Growlers on Charlevoix debuted in 2018 as a craft-beer spot with a wide, constantly rotating selection of beers and ciders on tap. The bar regularly hosts fundraisers, live music, and karaoke. The city itself adds outdoor music through the After 6 on Kercheval summer series, which runs Saturday evenings and has featured acts like The KuffLinks and American Ages on two separate stages.
