Pontiac punches well above its size as a live-music city, anchored by a cluster of venues in and around downtown Saginaw Street. The Crofoot complex is the scene's workhorse: The Crofoot presents touring acts across three rooms under one roof. The Crofoot Ballroom handles larger rock, indie, and hip-hop bills, with shows like Emo Orchestra and Jay Electronica passing through, while the Pike Room takes smaller and mid-sized acts, and the Vernors Room handles the most intimate bookings. A few doors away, ELEKTRICITY is a cutting-edge EDM nightclub that opened around 2011, housed in an intact 1927-era movie palace interior with ornate Moorish details. It is a go-to for touring DJs and rising producers across house, bass, and techno. The Flagstar Strand Theatre books theatrical touring acts and concerts in a traditional performing-arts setting. On the nightlife side, Agave Lounge is Pontiac's destination for Latin nightlife, with DJ sets in Latin rhythms and live regional acts including norteño and banda artists.
