Meadow Brook Amphitheatre sits on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester Hills, on property originally owned by automotive pioneer John F. Dodge and donated by his widow Matilda Dodge Wilson. Opened in 1964, it served as the summer residence of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra through 1991, then expanded into hosting many different kinds of performances, with artists such as Lady Gaga, John Legend, Bryan Adams, and the Beach Boys all taking the stage. The venue seats 7,701 patrons, split between 2,819 pavilion seats and 4,882 on the lawn. It runs live music exclusively in the summer, from May to October. Operated by 313 Presents, its 2026 schedule includes performances from Artists as Leaders, Primus, and Wilco, with rock dominating the calendar and country also represented. Rochester Hills has no other dedicated live-music venues, so the amphitheater is the city's sole concert destination.
