Sterling Heights

A city in the Detroit area

Sterling Heights anchors its live-music identity around the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill, an open-air venue that hosts concerts, festivals, and live events managed by 313 Presents. The amphitheatre is known throughout Detroit and Michigan for drawing major national touring acts. Recent bookings have included artists like Collective Soul, +LIVE+, and Ted Nugent. For a smaller night out, Club 54 is Sterling Heights' go-to spot for a night out, open to anyone 21 and older, outfitted with a sound and lights system. Saturdays feature cover bands, with live bands on the dance floor most weekend nights. The club also runs a regular rotation of up-and-coming DJs and musicians. On the faith-music side, Bethesda Christian Church Performing Arts Center gathers the metro Detroit community for concerts, inspirational speakers, seasonal productions, and special events. The main auditorium suits choirs, contemporary worship nights, family programs, and touring faith-based performances. The Gaither Vocal Band has performed here. The city itself adds to the calendar: Sterlingfest's main stage has hosted tribute acts, Gretchen Wilson, Slaughter, and Great White. Sterling Heights Parks and Recreation also runs a Sterling Coffeehouse concert series on select Thursday evenings at the Community Center.
