Mount Clemens

A city in the Detroit area

Mount Clemens, the Macomb County seat about 25 miles northeast of Detroit, anchors its live-music life around the Emerald Theatre in downtown. The Emerald is a multi-use concert venue in downtown Mt. Clemens with a general-admission capacity of 1,640 spread across three levels, with cabaret-style terraced seating and a dance floor that can convert to theater-style seating. The 23,000-square-foot space originally opened in 1921 as a movie theater and has since been renovated to present local and national music performances. It books a range of concerts, comedy, and other entertainment events. Inside, the Rock Room upstairs hosts special engagements, and Friday and Saturday nights feature a regular DJ series. Beyond the Emerald, downtown runs a summer concert series on certain Friday nights, with recent lineups drawing on classic Motown and blues-rock acts.
