The bar and restaurant opened after extensive renovations, with owner Josephine Mistretta wanting to bring something new and unique to the area. She envisioned jazz and blues with what she called a "sexy vibe," aiming for an industrial setting distinct from the Royal Oak or Ferndale feel. The bar carries locally distilled spirits, favoring labels like Two James, Valentine's, and Detroit City Distillery over national brands. Live jazz is a regular part of the experience, and reviewers have come specifically to hear live jazz, with singers like Jiana Hunter drawing positive notice.
