Sister Bay

Husby's Food & Spirits is a longtime Door County gathering place in downtown Sister Bay. Its open-air Garage bar operates seasonally from May to October, featuring live music every summer weekend. The main bar also runs weekend shows May through September and opens the stage to anyone on Monday open-mic nights. The booking leans toward rock, blues, and roots acts: a single June run included a Washington Island bluegrass band, a rock-and-roll covers act, and a blues project led by singer-guitarist Augie Barnhart. Midsummer's Music, founded by Jim and Jean Berkenstock, has been bringing chamber music to Door County for more than three decades. The organization puts chamber music's intimacy front and center, programming classics, lesser-known composers, and world premieres of commissioned works in galleries, churches, museums, and private homes. Musicians have come from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Ravinia Festival, and other major ensembles. From September through May, the affiliated Griffon String Quartet extends the mission through youth education, senior wellness, and community concerts.
