Bargersville
A city in the Indianapolis area
Bargersville is a small town south of Indianapolis with a modest but real live-music calendar centered on outdoor, seasonal programming. Its most active music venue is Mallow Run Winery, a family-run operation on W. Whiteland Road set on a 600-acre farm. Mallow Run's Picnic Concert Series runs nearly every weekend from late May through mid-September, with free Saturday lawn concerts, relaxed Sunday on the Patio sets, and select paid tribute shows. The series has drawn acts like Tastes Like Chicken, a central Indiana band that fuses rock, pop, R&B, and disco. In the winter months, the tasting room hosts live music every Saturday and Sunday in January, February, and March. Each Labor Day weekend, the winery also holds a three-day anniversary event with live music and a hog roast. Downtown, the Bargersville Parks and Recreation Department runs a free Summer Concert Series at Umbarger Plaza on Baldwin Street, with shows at 7 p.m. on select dates from May through September.
