River Market
River Market sits north of the downtown skyline and south of the Missouri River, and its live-music life runs from indoor bars to open-air park stages. Local artists perform on First Thursdays from 5:00 to 7:30 PM, May through October at River Market Park (3rd & Main) as part of the free River Market Melodies series. Harry's Country Club opened in 2003 as a "hip but reverent take on a 1940s honky-tonk roadhouse." The bar carries over 400 types of whiskey and pairs its country-leaning jukebox with live music on an outdoor patio that looks out over the downtown skyline. It was voted Best Jukebox in The Pitch: Best of Kansas City 2016 Awards. River Bluff Brewing occupies the Historic Water Building at 201 Main St., a 1901 structure originally built to house wagons, donkeys, and water for fighting city fires. The location has a large garage door that opens to a dog-friendly patio and occasionally offers live music. The Kansas City brewery focuses on experimentation and creative brewing. Strange Days Brewing Co. is listed as a music venue in the neighborhood, but search results returned no specific details about its music programming to cite here.
