Rebel Rebel Studio & Lounge sits in a historic downtown property on Chestnut Street and serves as Berea's only dedicated live music venue, booking local and touring bands and running an all-ages weekly open mic. Founded in 2019 by Ali Blair and Erica Chambers, it combines a live music venue, lounge, photography studio, and event space under one roof. Open mic runs on Tuesday nights, with live shows on Fridays and Saturdays. The space functions as a hub for cultural organizers and maintains an inclusive environment for both the Berea College community and off-campus residents. The venue also hosts evening concerts tied to community events, such as a concert of Appalachian music with Berea native Mitch Barrett. Broader live music in Berea is shaped by AMP Berea, which produces free outdoor concerts spanning traditional Appalachian to contemporary global sounds, deliberately booking women musicians, culturally diverse artists, and emerging local talent.
