University

The University area's sole dedicated concert venue sits on the Ole Miss campus itself. The Sandy and John Black Pavilion at Ole Miss is a $96.5 million arena built for the University of Mississippi. The multipurpose building serves as the venue for concerts, graduation ceremonies, and other university-wide events, and opened in January 2016. It is the Rebels' home for big-time basketball and a year-round destination for concerts, comedy, and family entertainment. Artists like Brad Paisley and Wiz Khalifa have played there for thousands of fans. Recent and upcoming bookings lean toward country, with Ella Langley with Kameron Marlowe and Laci Kaye Booth, and Gavin Adcock with Corey Kent and The Creekers on the schedule. The Pavilion is a large-format room suited to national touring acts rather than local or nightly live music, which happens a short drive away in Oxford's Square district.
