Aspinwall
Allegheny RiverTrail Park (formerly Aspinwall Riverfront Park) is a non-profit, independently run park along the Allegheny River. It is Aspinwall's primary live-music destination. The park's Summer Concert Series features nationally rising artists and Pittsburgh favorites on a waterfront stage, with free admission, beer from Trace Brewing, and rotating food trucks. Concerts run on the second Friday of each month from June through September, with music starting at 7 PM. Recent lineups have included Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams and Norside City Council featuring the BGVs and Steeltown Horns. Beyond the park, Aspinwall organizes music into its community calendar. The borough hosts Play Music on the Porch Day each August, with local bands performing on four different front porches along the 200 block of Western Avenue. The annual Big Night Out event at the Aspinwall Baseball Fields also features local acts. Aspinwall is a small, residential borough, and its live-music life reflects that, centering on free, outdoor, community-organized events rather than bars or clubs.
