Burgettstown

Burgettstown is a small borough of roughly 1,400 people that is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. Its live-music identity rests entirely on one anchor: The Pavilion at Star Lake, an outdoor amphitheater about 25 miles west of Pittsburgh. The venue holds approximately 23,000 fans, with 7,100 in a reserved-seating open-air pavilion and an additional 16,000 on a general-admission lawn. Owned and operated by Live Nation, it opened as Coca-Cola Star Lake Amphitheater and hosted its first national act, Billy Joel, on June 17, 1990. The venue has cycled through several naming-rights sponsors over the decades. It draws major national touring acts across rock, country, pop, and hip-hop. Jelly Roll's first amphitheater tour stopped at Star Lake during the 2023 summer season, and Pittsburgh native Wiz Khalifa is a frequent presence on the stage. Recent bookings include Mötley Crüe, Tim McGraw, and Dave Matthews Band. For most Pittsburgh-area concertgoers, Star Lake is their primary destination for stadium-scale summer shows.
