Port of Dubuque
The Port of Dubuque is the section of downtown Dubuque immediately adjacent to the Mississippi River, and its two live-music venues sit close together along the waterfront. Diamond Jo Casino, at 400 E. 3rd St., stages concerts and comedy through its Mississippi Moon Bar, where national touring acts perform in a close-up setting supported by club-style sound and lighting. The calendar draws fans of classic rock, country, tribute nights, and stand-up. The casino books live entertainment two nights a week. Stone Cliff Winery relocated to the Port of Dubuque in 2007, taking up residence in the historic Star Brewery building overlooking the Mississippi. The winery hosts live music on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with regional musicians and bands on the bill. The location includes an outdoor amphitheater area along the river, giving it a good mix of indoor and outdoor listening space.
