Anoka is known as the Live Music Capital of Minnesota, and its historic downtown backs that claim with a range of venues. Heart of the City Music Factory occupies the second floor of the Old Milk Factory on the Rum River, seating 130 in a Victorian-style room with vintage wallpaper and a fireplace on stage; it runs a regular concert series spanning classical, jazz, reggae, gospel, rock, and singer-songwriter acts, both local and national. The venue is run by the non-profit Christian organization Heart of the City Ministries. Ambi Wine Bar & Desserts is a small, family-owned spot in Anoka's Social District in historic downtown, pairing a curated wine selection with live music on select evenings. The Star Tribune has recognized it as Minnesota's Best Wine Bar multiple years running. The Hardware Store is a neighborhood bar in Anoka that books acoustic acts. Nucky's Speakeasy, at 300 East Main St., hosts live performers such as singer Gary LaRue.
