Apple Valley

A city in the Minneapolis & St. Paul area

Apple Valley's live-music options split cleanly between an indoor entertainment center and a summer amphitheater inside a zoo. Bogart's Entertainment Center is more than a bowling alley: its 8,000-square-foot multipurpose room hosts live bands, dueling pianos, and other acts for up to 500 guests. The room is built around a 3-tiered stage and dance floor, and upgrades to the lighting and sound systems have built its reputation in the south metro. Live bands run throughout the week, alongside karaoke and trivia nights. Bogart's also serves as a backup home for the city's free Music in Kelley Park concert series, presented by the Apple Valley Arts Foundation, which holds Friday-evening shows here when Kelley Park is unavailable. The Weesner Family Amphitheater sits inside the Minnesota Zoo at 13000 Zoo Boulevard. The 1,450-capacity open-air venue anchors the Music in the Zoo concert series, now more than 25 years running. Touring artists across rock, folk, indie, and comedy play the stage, and shows must wrap by 10:30 PM so the animals can rest.
