Arden Hills

A city in the Minneapolis & St. Paul area

Arden Hills is a quiet northern suburb whose live-music presence comes down to two very different rooms. North Heights Church, at 1700 Hwy 96 W, brings the community together for concerts, conferences, and seasonal productions, and is known for a polished experience suited to everything from choir performances to guest artists. Christian touring acts have used the space, including Big Daddy Weave on their Heaven Changes Everything Tour. The Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus has also performed there. The other live-music spot is Welsch's Big Ten Tavern on Hwy 10, a family-owned scratch-kitchen bar that has been operating since at least 1959. The tavern pairs a cozy, family-owned atmosphere with live music, comedy shows, daily specials, and bingo. It also runs a recurring Music Jam Night series. Between a church auditorium booking ticketed touring acts and a decades-old neighborhood tavern with regular jam nights, Arden Hills keeps its live music local and low-key.
