Lou Sobh Amphitheater at Cumming City Center is Forsyth County's main outdoor music venue, and for this suburb north of Atlanta, it is the anchor of the live-music calendar. The covered band shell sits in front of a reflecting pond and features five tiers of grassy terrace wall seating, bar seating at the top tier, and a 2,227-square-foot stage. It bills itself as Cumming's premier destination for free entertainment and community fun. The booking leans toward tribute acts and cover bands: recent and upcoming shows have included a Dave Matthews Tribute Band, a Journey tribute called Departure, a Doobie Brothers tribute, and country and 80s acts. The Cumming City Center Lawn also hosts free seasonal concert series through the warmer months. Concerts tend to be best attended on Friday and Saturday nights.
