Mahomet
Mahomet is a small suburb about 15 miles west of Champaign-Urbana with a modest but focused live-music presence built largely around two anchors. Yellow & Co. is a comedy club and live-music venue in Mahomet's Patton District. The space evolved from a boutique and sip-and-paint studio into a full performance and gathering place. The intimate room books nationally touring musicians, many of whom have appeared on late-night television, HBO and Amazon specials, and shows like America's Got Talent, The Voice, and American Idol. Local musicians from the Champaign-Urbana area fill out the calendar alongside that national talent. Owners say they spend considerable time curating bookings, with a focus on national talent. On the outdoor side, the Mahomet Music Festival has run for more than 30 years as a family-friendly celebration, growing into one of the region's most anticipated summer events with nationally recognized artists. It takes place on the last Friday and Saturday of August along Main Street and draws nearly 25,000 attendees over the weekend.
