Southern View
Southern View sits on the south side of Springfield, covering just over half a square mile. Its live-music footprint rests almost entirely on one address: the Curve Inn. The Curve Inn, at 3219 S. 6th St., has been a staple in the Springfield area since the 1930s. Advertised as "Springfield's original roadhouse," it carries ties to Old Route 66 history and the Prohibition era. The bar opened on Route 66 in 1945 and books live music from local and regional performers. Music is hosted in a beer garden alongside homemade food and drinks. It is a little rough around the edges but draws a loyal crowd for live music and affordable drinks. Thursday nights are given over to karaoke.
