Downtown
Downtown Chattanooga carries most of the city's live-music weight, running from free outdoor series to restored concert halls. Miller Plaza is the home of Nightfall, a free Friday-night concert series running May through October that spans blues, funk, Americana, and more. Cherry Street Tavern, a snug pub on Cherry Street that opened in 2021, holds around 100 people and books open mic Mondays, a local artist-in-residency series, and touring acts, with past performers including Jim Lauderdale, Tommy Prine, and Wednesday. Chattanooga Brewing Co. hosts regular live music at its taproom, with Thursday evenings a recurring slot for local artists. Puckett's Restaurant keeps a dedicated stage for local musicians covering bluegrass and beyond. The Tivoli Theatre anchors the larger-show end of the spectrum, drawing touring acts to its restored historic space. Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium rounds out the formal concert-hall options downtown.
