Darien is a quiet DuPage County suburb with a modest but consistent live-music footprint. The city runs a Summer Concert Series that has become a regular tradition, with shows on the last Thursday of June, July, and August held in the north parking lot of Carriage Greens Country Club. For year-round music, Q Bar & Grill is a 15,000-square-foot sports bar located west of Chicago on S. Cass Ave. Weekends run two formats at once: a live DJ in the main room and live music in a dedicated music room. Live music is held every Friday and Saturday night. Beyond bands and DJs, the venue also books karaoke, bar trivia, and acoustic sets. Past acts have included Reckless, Terrapin Flyer, and Anthem, with the room covering a wide range of genres. National touring acts appear alongside local bookings on weekend bills.
