Lyons is a small Cook County village of about 10,800 people and roughly 12 miles southwest of the Chicago Loop. Its live-music options are modest. The village runs a seasonal Music in the Park series at Veterans Park, with Wednesday evening shows from local acts. The one dedicated music venue is BuckleDown Brewing. One of the earlier Illinois craft breweries, it opened in 2013 and sits, per reviewers, in the middle of an industrial district. The taproom is described as rustic yet comfortable, with a beer garden, and it is known for hosting live music performances regularly. Musicians perform in the evenings, and food trucks make appearances frequently as well. The room is on the smaller side, so the atmosphere stays neighborhood-local rather than ticketed-show.
