Norwood Park

A neighborhood in Chicago

Norwood Park sits on Chicago's far north side and keeps its live-music footprint modest, anchored by two spots along Northwest Highway. Illuminated Brew Works is a craft brewery whose tasting room has offered live music alongside its beers. Shows at IBW have largely been free, running on weekend nights and Sunday afternoons. The venue has hosted a wide range of genres, with past acts including The Enstrangers, Lollygagger, and Won't Stay Dead. Free music nights have included jazz and indie rock, with acts like Tim Midyet's Mint Mile (Silkworm, Bottomless Pit) appearing on the bill. Note: IBW's website from June 2026 references events billed as final gatherings, so confirm current status before visiting. Zia's Social, at 6158 N. Northwest Highway, is a restaurant and bar with two stages for music performances built into its space. The venue has programmed a live DJ on Wednesday nights and live music on its indoor stage on weekends. The neighborhood's annual Fall Fest, hosted by the Norwood Park Chamber of Commerce, brings rock, country, and blues to Northwest Highway each September.
