Rosa's Lounge, open since 1984, is Logan Square's anchor blues club, family-owned and built in the tradition of South Side lounges like the legendary Theresa's. The full spectrum of the genre runs five nights a week, and the club has been called "a blues mecca for true believers" by Rolling Stone . Owner Tony Mangiullo and his wife recently launched Rosa's Lounge Records, aimed at local blues, R&B, and rock-adjacent musicians. Elastic Arts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, founded in 2002, that fosters creative and independent music, art, and performance in the Avondale/Logan Square area, having presented over 1,700 events. Logan Square Auditorium is a historic multi-purpose event space on Kedzie Blvd. Once a venue-for-hire, it is now booked more regularly as a music venue, with the Empty Bottle bringing in acts several times a year alongside in-house bookings. The Whistler offers free live music alongside an in-house record label, with any given night potentially bringing a jazz outfit, acoustic duo, or DJ set. Cole's Bar on Milwaukee Ave combines live music with a comedy room. The Owl, also on Milwaukee, runs until 4am nightly and 5am on Saturdays.
