St. Charles

A suburb in the Chicago area

St. Charles anchors its live-music scene around the historic Arcada Theatre complex on Main Street. The theatre opened in 1926 and is one of the only vaudeville-era theatres left in the country that has remained consistently operational. The 900-seat house presents more than 250 events annually, with past performers including Bret Michaels, UFO, Chris Isaak, Kenny Loggins, and Pat Benatar. The venue reaches its 100th year in September 2026. Upstairs in the same building, Club Arcada Speakeasy sits on the third floor of the Arcada Theatre and features Prohibition-era drinks, flapper-girl floor shows, period music, comedy, jazz, and blues, with live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Pollyanna Brewing & Distilling Company, on South Riverside Avenue, appears regularly in the city's weekly live-music listings as a spot for afternoon and evening sets. The House Pub rounds out the options as one of Yelp's top-rated bars with live music in St. Charles. Beyond these venues, the city-run STC Live! series delivers free performances through late September, with over 35 shows on Wednesday and Friday evenings on the 1st Street Plaza.
