West Dundee

A suburb in the Chicago area

Historic downtown West Dundee anchors its live-music identity around one venue: RocHaus, on West Main Street. The building originally opened as The Crystal Theater in 1910, evolved from vaudeville to cinema over the decades, and after a full restoration reopened in 2017 as a dedicated music space. The venue opened to a sold-out night featuring rock band Living Colour. RocHaus specializes in performances and bands in the rock genre, though it also hosts comedy shows and special events throughout the year. The room holds up to 293 seated or 470 standing, with exposed brick, a large stage, theater-style seating, and a bar area. Past acts documented at the venue include Candlebox and Sevendust, and both local bands and national acts appear on its calendar. West Dundee's annual Heritage Fest also brings local and national musicians to perform on a Main Stage downtown, with free admission.
