Eden Park

A neighborhood in Cincinnati

Seasongood Pavilion is the fourth bandstand to occupy Eden Park, carrying on a musical tradition that dates to 1872. Dedicated in 1960 as a gift to the city from Martha S. Stern, it is named for Murray Seasongood, Cincinnati's first mayor under the modern charter system. The open-air bandstand sits at 1600 Art Museum Drive among rolling lawns, with views toward the river. Live music here is seasonal and free. The EdenSong Music Series runs every Friday in July at the pavilion, sponsored by the Cincinnati Park Board and the Queen City Balladeers. The park board also hosts "It's Commonly Jazz," a summer series that has featured vibraphonists including Erwin Stuckey, Josh Strange, Rusty Burge, and Warren Wolf. The Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is among the presenting organizations that use the space. Programming skews toward jazz, folk, and community performance rather than ticketed rock shows, making the pavilion a low-key public gathering point rather than a full-time commercial venue.
