Mount Adams

Mount Adams became a live-music hub in the 1960s, a reputation the neighborhood still carries. Two venues anchor that identity today. The Blind Lemon opened May 21, 1963, and takes its name from Texas blues guitarist Blind Lemon Jefferson. A narrow passageway leads down to a brick courtyard with a fire pit; inside, the underground tavern is lit by Tiffany lamps and filled with vintage memorabilia, copper accents, and signed photographs. The Lemon books local acts most nights of the week. In its 1970s prime it drew on soft jazz, blues, and folk. The live-music page on its own site still lists "Folk'Rockin Blues" as a longstanding program. Hi-Fi Cincy is a vinyl-driven cocktail bar in Mt. Adams offering craft cocktails and a music-filled atmosphere with vinyl spinning daily. The upstairs bar rotates karaoke, live music, trivia, and comedy shows Tuesday through Saturday; the basement Lofi space hosts local DJs and drag shows on weekends.
