West Price Hill
A neighborhood in Cincinnati
The Crow's Nest, one of the oldest bars in Cincinnati, has anchored West Price Hill's live-music life since 1895, when it opened at the end of the Elberon Avenue streetcar line. Descendants of the original owners still run it today. The decor is unmistakably Irish, with a tin ceiling painted in green, white, and orange. Music is the Crow's Nest's true calling card. Since 2006, every Tuesday night has been open mic night, leaning toward Americana and bluegrass, the kind of night that draws a crowd of musicians' musicians. Beyond the Tuesday open mic, the bar hosts shows on Friday and Saturday nights as well. West Price Hill doesn't have a wide nightlife scene, making the Crow's Nest the clear center of gravity for live music in the neighborhood. The Covedale Center for the Performing Arts is also nearby, presenting productions throughout the year, though its focus is theater rather than live-music bookings.
