West End

A neighborhood in Cincinnati

TQL Stadium, a soccer-specific stadium holding about 26,000 spectators, sits in the West End on Central Parkway at Wade Street. It is the home of MLS club FC Cincinnati, open since May 2021. Beyond soccer, the stadium hosts concerts on an occasional basis. The Who played the venue's first concert on May 15, 2022, drawing nearly 17,000 spectators. That show began what has become a pattern of at least one major concert per summer. FC Cincinnati also announced plans in 2023 to build a mixed-use entertainment district on the stadium's north side, which would include a dedicated music venue alongside a hotel, housing, and restaurants. Outside the stadium, West End has no active small venue scene to speak of. The neighborhood's musical legacy is rooted in its pre-1960s role as a hub for blues and jug band traditions, tied to artists like Sam Jones (Stovepipe No. 1) and the Cincinnati Jug Band. That history has not translated into a current concentration of live-music bars or clubs in the area.
