Woodmere
Woodmere is a small eastern suburb where live music has historically been hard to find without a drive downtown or to the west side. That changed in early 2026 when Nightjar Jazz Bar opened at the Eton Chagrin Boulevard plaza on Chagrin Blvd. Nightjar is an intimate cocktail and jazz bar tucked into a previously unused space down a quiet alleyway at the Eton Chagrin Boulevard shopping plaza. It pairs classic and modern cocktails with live jazz sets and a curated vinyl collection in a refined, welcoming setting. Owner Sam Friedman cited a real gap: to hear live music in this part of the suburbs, residents previously had to travel downtown or to the west side, so Nightjar now brings live jazz every Friday and Saturday. Music plays a central role: weekends feature small live acts playing jazz, blues, and rock, while weeknights shift to a jazz-heavy vinyl program guided by staff and guests. Friedman prioritizes local artists and local spirits, stocking a higher percentage of Northeast Ohio distillery bottles than most comparable bars.
