New Albany
New Albany's live-music activity centers on two publicly funded venues that share a campus along Dublin-Granville Road, forming the core of the city's cultural arts district. The Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts, known as the McCoy Center, is a 786-seat venue founded in 2008 through a partnership between the City of New Albany, Plain Township, New Albany-Plain Local School District, and the New Albany Community Foundation. CAPA began managing it in 2013; programming includes a main-stage Marquee Season with world-class artists, lectures by noted authors and public figures, and educational programming with central Ohio arts organizations. The McCoy serves as home for the New Albany Symphony Orchestra, New Albany Arts Council, New Albany Ballet Company, and Broadway Bound Dance Centre. Sitting adjacent to the McCoy, the Charleen & Charles Hinson Amphitheater is an outdoor community concert and performance space hosting educational and cultural events. A signature component of the cultural arts district, it hosts local, regional, and national performing arts groups. The city also runs a Summer Concert Series offering free, live music performances across a variety of genres.
