Wayland's live-music identity centers almost entirely on Gun Lake Casino Resort, a full-service resort south of Grand Rapids. Its dedicated indoor concert space, Wawyé Oasis, is a poolside venue that runs shows year-round. Live music fires up every Friday night, starting at 9 PM. The booking mix is broad: the resort brings comedy, free pool parties, and free country music concerts to Wawyé Oasis, alongside tribute acts and genre nights like emo/pop-punk. Nashville Nights, a recurring country series, is free of charge. For those not drawn to the casino, downtown Wayland offers Music on Main, an annual street event featuring local and regional musical talent where attendees can bring a chair and gather in the streets. The casino is the only consistent, ticketed live-music venue in the city proper.
