De Soto
De Soto is a small Kansas City-area city whose live-music life runs largely through outdoor, community-oriented events rather than dedicated clubs. The annual De Soto Days Festival is a five-day Labor Day event with live music alongside crafts, food, and carnival booths. The city also runs Rhythm & Roots, a Friday-night series featuring live music and local vendors every second and fourth Friday from May through August. Stone Pillar Winery is among the community partners that sponsor Rhythm & Roots. Stone Pillar Vineyard & Winery is the area's primary dedicated music venue. It is a family-owned farm winery that grows grapes and makes wine on a historic family farm. The winery offers tastings of handcrafted wines, hard ciders, and wine slushes, and guests can catch live music on the patio on weekends. Programming runs from summer concerts to family-friendly events. Acts like 3 Bricks Shy, who play original blues, country, rockabilly, and folk rock, have performed in the creekside setting.
