Lenexa's live-music calendar runs the gamut from rock and blues to jazz, classical, and country, spread across bars, a public market, and a city-run concert series. The anchor of the bar scene is Jerry's Bait Shop in Old Town, a locally owned spot that has been hosting live cover bands for over 30 years. It books live music six nights a week, with rock the dominant genre and blues acts turning up regularly. Friday and Saturday nights feature full bands, Wednesday brings an open jam, and Thursday is a country jam. Jerry's has run what it bills as Kansas City's best Jam Night for over 20 years. The Lenexa Public Market offers a different flavor. Its Friday Night Sound Bites series runs free, live music every Friday night from late May through October 2026, with sets on the Lower Commons from 7 to 10 p.m., pairing local bands with food vendors and rotating food trucks. Limitless Brewing, Ludo's West Shuffleboard Bar, and Old Shawnee Pizza & The Saloon round out the roster, giving Lenexa a spread of neighborhood spots where live music is part of the regular programming.
