West Knoxville
West Knoxville's live-music options range from an intimate listening room to one of the area's largest country nightclubs. Open Chord Music on Kingston Pike is an all-ages venue featuring touring artists and local shows, with a full bar and restaurant, and one of the largest guitar shops in East Tennessee on site. The OC Stage books across blues, rock, folk, and soul, and also hosts open mic and blues jam sessions. Cotton Eyed Joe, a short drive west on Outlet Drive, anchors the other end of the spectrum. It is a long-running East Tennessee destination for live country music and dancing, and since the 1990s has hosted chart-topping headliners and breakthrough country acts. The 25,000-square-foot building includes a 2,500-square-foot dance floor, and the club won the ACM Nightclub of the Year award in 2018. Weekly programming runs from live concerts to line dancing lessons.
