Innovation Campus
Nebraska Innovation Campus (NIC) is a University of Nebraska–Lincoln public/private research campus built on the 249-acre former Nebraska State Fairgrounds. Its live-music identity is built almost entirely around one annual series: the Nebraska Bluegrass Concert Series, now in its fourth year, which is free and open to the public and pairs local bluegrass bands with nationally recognized headliners. Local openers share the bill with nationally recognized acts from the Ozark Mountains to the Appalachian regions. Recent and upcoming performers have included Jason Carter (fiddler), Bronwyn Keith-Hynes, and the Henhouse Prowlers. Shows happen in the open plaza between campus buildings, with the 2025 dates falling on September 3, 10, and 17. The Mill Coffee & Bistro sells food and drink from 5 p.m., and music starts at 6 p.m. Outside of this September series, NIC is not a regular live-music venue.
