Roca
Roca is a village of about 200 people in Lancaster County, part of the Lincoln metro area. For its size, it punches well above its weight for live music, drawing on two distinct venues with regular weekend programming. Roca Tavern bills itself as "the home of Nebraska Roots Rock" and books local and national acts on a regular basis, with most indoor performances free and no cover. The small-village bar runs live music or karaoke every Friday and Saturday night. Friday nights lean toward karaoke, while Saturdays feature live band performances. The tavern also has an outdoor stage for warmer-weather shows. Styles run toward country, rock, roots, and southern rock. Capitol View Winery & Vineyards, south of Lincoln, is known for its wines, live music, and vineyard views. During warmer months, music moves outside to a covered patio near the bandstand and a spacious yard among the vines. Summer Friday evenings pair live music with an on-site food truck, and the winery continues to host live music in its tasting room through the winter months. Trivia nights and special pairings like chocolate and wine round out the event calendar.
