Butchertown sits just east of downtown Louisville, and its live-music options run from a neighborhood bar patio to a 15,000-capacity stadium. The Whirling Tiger, at 1335 Story Ave., occupies the space of the old Butchertown Pub and hosts live music Wednesday through Sunday. It holds around 300 people. Beargrass Creek Tavern, on Mellwood Avenue, puts live music on its patio all spring and summer. Play Louisville, the neighborhood's largest LGBTQ nightclub, is a go-to for drag shows and dance parties. Vernon Lanes offers vintage bowling on eight newly refurbished wooden lanes with a retro feel. The lanes host live music alongside their bowling nights. Lynn Family Stadium seats 11,600 and has a capacity of 15,304, opened in 2020. It is home to Racing Louisville FC, Louisville City FC, and the Louisville Kings. The stadium is also available for concerts and festivals on non-match days.
