Waterfront Park is Louisville's primary outdoor concert ground, sitting along the Ohio River on East River Road. Its multiple event spaces, including the Big Four Lawn and the Brown-Forman Amphitheater, handle everything from wide-ranging genres, with past acts including The Record Company, Say She She, and Murder By Death, to larger draws like SZA and Jack Harlow's "Gazebo Festival." The anchor event is WFPK Waterfront Wednesday. 91.9 WFPK and Waterfront Park have partnered since 2002 to produce the series, which focuses on local and emerging national recording artists. It runs on the last Wednesday of each month from April through September, and three bands play each night, covering a mix of genres from folk and rock to soul and indie pop. The Southeast Tourism Society has named Waterfront Wednesday one of their Top 20 Events. Previous acts include Old Crow Medicine Show, My Morning Jacket, Charley Crockett, Todd Snider, Iron and Wine, and The Mavericks. All shows are free to attend. In the 2026 season, the park is also partnering with The Monarch Music and Arts Community to run an intimate secondary stage spotlighting Louisville musicians.
