Brookfield

Brookfield's live-music identity centers on the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts, a nonprofit performing-arts facility in Mitchell Park. Named after an arts supporter who died in 1995, the 43,000-square-foot complex includes a studio theater and a 600-seat auditorium. Recognized as a cultural anchor in the Greater Milwaukee community, the Wilson Center focuses on performing arts, arts education, and visual arts. Its concert programming draws touring artists across genres, with recent shows including guitarist Leo Kottke and Julian Lage. Friday music on the outdoor stages makes summer a draw for locals who come early and linger. The on-site Wisconsin Conservatory of Music offers instruction ranging from chamber music and piano to lessons for children and families, giving the venue a dual role as both a performance hall and a working music school.
