Concordia sits on Milwaukee's West Side, between Wisconsin Avenue, Highland Avenue, 27th Street, and 35th Street. New concert venues are among the businesses coming to the community as part of a broader revival. For now, the neighborhood's live-music anchor is Murray's Bar. Murray's Bar is at 2474 West Hopkins Street. It is a family-run bar with an old-school neighborhood feel, drawing a crowd aged 30 and up, with blues and R&B as its consistent soundtrack. Jazz rounds out the music mix alongside blues and old-school R&B. No rap is played, and owners Murray and Mary keep the atmosphere low-drama. Karaoke runs every Friday night starting at 9 p.m. A dart board, pool table, and ample seating round out the space.
