Harbor District
Just south of downtown Milwaukee, the Harbor District sits where the Menomonee, Milwaukee, and Kinnickinnic Rivers meet Lake Michigan. Its live-music options reflect that waterfront setting well. Along the waterfront, Boone & Crockett is a Northwoods-themed bar at 818 S. Water St. with a capacity of 180 and a 21+ door. Weekends typically bring live music or DJs, and the bar hosts Flannel Fest, which features local bands alongside vendors. In summer, a patio bar called Rushes opens down by the riverside. A few minutes north, the Rotary Amphitheater at Discovery World features a 350-person seating area and a stage overhanging Lake Michigan. It anchors the free Live @ the Lakefront summer concert series, held every Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 9 p.m. The Rotary Club of Milwaukee presents the series to celebrate the diversity of Milwaukee's rich musical tastes and traditions. Genres span jazz, blues, Latin, reggae, indie rock, bluegrass, folk, and other original performances. The 2026 series features eight accomplished original musical groups from around the Midwest.
