A neighborhood in Milwaukee
Muskego Way, on Milwaukee's south side, is a densely populated neighborhood where over 70% of residents are Latino, mostly of Mexican background. Its one dedicated music venue reflects that character directly. Tequila Night Club, a tavern at 1460 S. Muskego Ave., is the neighborhood's live-music anchor. The club opened in November 1999 as Tequila Bar, and in 2007 expanded by opening a second dance hall, giving it two halls running live music and DJ at the same time. Visitors describe the mix as varied music, karaoke, DJ sets, and live performances. Hours run Thursday through Sunday, opening at 9 pm. For a neighborhood with few dedicated venues, Tequila Night Club carries most of the late-night music weight in Muskego Way.
